A second-round draft choice out of Alabama in 2006, Harper was also part of the renaissance of the New Orleans Saints coinciding with Sean Payton’s arrival in New Orleans. Harper played nine seasons for the Saints (2006-13, 2016). He recorded seven interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Harper also defended 52 passes and recorded 38 tackles for loss, including 17 sacks. Harper finished with 685 tackles, forced 15 fumbles and recovered three fumbles. Harper played in eight playoff games, forcing a pair of fumbles and recording 1.5 sacks in those games. The University of Alabama product was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2009 and 2010.
